چکیده
limited number of mutually specific cohesive sites implied thereby suggests a specialized biological function, one that remains to be identified. Summary.-The DNA of phage lambda undergoes reversible transitions from linear to characteristically folded molecules, and from linear monomers to open polymers. Some conditions favoring one state or another have been defined. It may be surmised that each molecule carries two specifically interacting cohesive sites.

Codon bias patterns in photosynthetic genes of halophytic grass Aeluropus littoralis
Codon bias refers to the differences in the frequency of occurrence of synonymous codons in coding DNA. Pattern of codon and optimum codon utilization is significantly different between the lives. This difference is due to the long term function of natural selection and evolution process. Genetics drift, mutation and regulation of gene expression are the main reasons for codon bias. In this stu...
متن کاملHigh throughput electron transfer from carbon dots to chloroplast: a rationale of enhanced photosynthesis.
A biocompatible amine functionalized fluorescent carbon dots were developed and isolated for gram scale applications. Such carbogenic quantum dots can strongly conjugate over the surface of the chloroplast and due to that strong interaction the former can easily transfer electrons towards the latter by assistance of absorbed light or photons. An exceptionally high electron transfer from carbon ...
متن کاملChloroplast thioredoxin systems: prospects for improving photosynthesis
Thioredoxins (TRXs) are protein oxidoreductases that control the structure and function of cellular proteins by cleavage of a disulphide bond between the side chains of two cysteine residues. Oxidized thioredoxins are reactivated by thioredoxin reductases (TR) and a TR-dependent reduction of TRXs is called a thioredoxin system. Thiol-based redox regulation is an especially important mechanism t...
متن کاملRedox regulation in the chloroplast thylakoid lumen: a new frontier in photosynthesis research.
Initially linked to photosynthesis, regulation by change in the redox state of thiol groups (S-S<-- -->2SH) is now known to occur throughout biology. Thus, in addition to serving important structural and catalytic functions, it is recognized that, in many cases, disulphide bonds can be broken and reformed for regulation. Several systems, each linking a hydrogen donor to an intermediary disulphi...
متن کاملA role for PsbZ in the core complex of photosystem II.
Photosynthesis in oxygen-evolving organisms is driven by electron transport through the photochemical reaction centers photosystem I (PSI) and photosystem II (PSII), two large protein complexes located in the chloroplast thylakoid membrane. PSI and PSII each contain an array of light-harvesting antenna pigments that absorb light energy and transfer it to a reaction center core complex, where el...
